Nissan North America Wins Energy Star Award

Now you may know that Nissan pioneered EV technology in the Nissan LEAF, but do you know about all how they're working to reduce their carbon footprint? Well, to put it simply, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has honored Nissan North America with one of their coveted ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Awards.

2012 marks the 20th anniversary of the ENERGY STAR Awards, and EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson says, "Nissan and all our ENERGY STAR award winners are helping Americans find cost-effective ways to save energy in everything we do, which is good for our climate, our health, and our future."1

More specifically, companies honored by Sustained Excellence Awards have proven, year-after-year, their commitment to building a more sustainable future with the use of advanced technology. By meeting strict environmental goals, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and consistently revolutionizing their manufacturing practices, Nissan has set an example for other automakers looking to decrease their carbon footprint.

Nissan, of course, is grateful by the gratitude for all of their hard work. Bill Krueger, Vice Chairman, Nissan Americas, says, "Nissan is committed to partnering with ENERGY STAR in our efforts to increase energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing with the highest quality vehicles sold in North America."2 He goes on to say that this award highlights Nissan's global goals of leading in zero-emission technology and corporate responsibility.

With that in mind, Peters Nissan of Nashua invites you down to our showroom at 280 Amherst Street in Nashua, NH  to learn more about all of the ways Nissan is turning up the efficiency of their lineup.
